Newest post for Diane Pernet's A Shaded View On Fashion

Hello,

I've been lagging on posts here, but you can find me sometimes over on the legendary Diane Pernet's site "A Shaded View On Fashion." I've admired her work for years, so its an honor to be an LA correspondent for her site.

As they say, "write what you know." So here is the latest.

Dear Diane, Dear Shaded Viewers,
I feel that there are certain artists who tap into "it." They have a talent to organize and communicate a nostalgic mixture of pop, counter-culture and psychedelia with their own point of view. Its capturing the spirit of freedom, "outlaws" and forward thinkers. They trip us up with their psychology. Is the work from then, now, or the future? In more simple terms, I like what I see here. I am happy to encounter the artists and works below that I'd like to share with you.

Mick Rock Week in LA

One of my first emails today was from the man who showed us all what rock & roll really looks like, Mick Rock. Its rather dreamy to be working on a project with Mick and he couldn't be any more wonderful as a person to work with. His images not only captured those stolen & intimate moments amongst friends, but also high influenced the fashion world in showing off the looks of some of our most favorite pop culture icons.

Saturday, December 18th from 4-6PM Mick will be on hand signing his new book at the opening of his new exhibition at Confederacy in LA. Its a great opportunity to have a chat and get a personalized gift for yourself or a loved one.
