i want a hammock, not a fancy dress. shades of red americana today.

quiet. trickling fountain. sketching plants. drinking yerba mate out of a mug from my grandmother. i ate the first ripe strawberry off of my plant :) talking to a plump grey bird. looking into the cat's eyes & convincing her she doesn't want to hurt it. the dog is basking in the sun.
ladybug eating the bad bugs off the hollyhock.
some work of course. always work....thank goodness for the mobility of the macbook. sick as all get out the past few days. doing my darnedest to shake it. just trying out the old timey advice of sitting in the sun with my mouth open... who cares if i look foolish. keeping it real as possible in LA.... i want a hammock, not a fancy dress.
sunday shoes. way old school vans.

Buzz Buzz

Yesterday I was unable to go home for a while. I had taken little Callie for a walk. I had no phone, no cash, no water, just me and my dog. After our walk was through, we could not get back into our place for over an hour. So, we two gypsies just went with it. What can you do? We wandered around our neighborhood. We lounged in the grass for a good while, gazing up at a incredibly chubby and fuzzy bumble bee with a completely solid ochre-yellow tummy. He kept buzzing over us. He was curious about us it seemed and quite amusing. I started thinking how he seemed almost like a mini alien. He repeatedly came over to check us out for a good 15 minutes, and would then buzz about some flowers. The way they maneuver is fascinating, especially when you are observing from below. He was like an organic robotic helicopter. A bit surreal.

When is the last time you paused in life and had such an experience?

Hot Japanese Elvis, Sandy & Danny, a Surfing Clown, a Gangsta, Leia, a Skunky Dog, and a Little Ladybug

All Hallows Eve. My first as a Hollywood resident. One of my favorite "holidays." Maybe its because I enjoy its origin. The old tradition. The the change of seasons. The harvest moon. Or maybe I just enjoy dressing up. You know you may have issues when you don't have to buy a single thing for your costume. When you throw it together in 15 minutes after you realize you just happen to have in your closet: ladybug wings, a black sequined skirt, a black bustier, red stockings, black satin elbow length gloves, and the related accessories. You don't want to say where you've worn it all...but yes, I like playing dress up. And then you are proud to have an extra costume or 4 for friends to choose from.

Fun times. Terribly charming Elvis. Meow. Wait, I am a ladybug, not a cat. Darling friends as Sandy and Danny. And wow, Leia was the hit of the party!

While the West Hollywood scene would have been a circus of delights, this was really perfect!

Until next year. Cheers.
